Many say they are the best Raku kilns

When you think of the New Year, you almost always think of a beginning.
Of starting.
Of opening possibilities.
Of a time to fulfill dreams, plans, and projects.
We created our studio in exactly this way — step by step.Tool by tool.Scraper by scraper.Form by form. And… kiln by kiln.
This gave us solid experience and a deep sense of creating with the absolute minimum:a minimum of tools,a minimum of space,a minimum of resources.
Day after day.
The first kiln was a gas kiln, inspired by Raku firings.Built for firing clay forms.
Because the work of the hands matters. The heart matters.Thought matters. And impermanence — held within a solid mass of clay.
Drying.Mindfulness.Gathering experience — how to do it in the best, the most appropriate way.
Sometimes it has to be fast — because it’s a plein-air workshop and on the third day comes the bisque firing.Sometimes gentle and slow — because the clay is sensitive.
The right approach to the process is what sets our studio apart — especially in creating the final, key element: Raku kilns.
The first kilns were built based on a steel barrel. What changed was not so much the form itself, but the division lines and the number of rings — which directly influenced the comfort and flow of the firing process.

This is how BEKA–RAKU was born — a universal kiln. For beginners.
For bisque, glaze, and fiery Raku.
Focusing on Raku techniques allowed us to take the next step.
For events, outdoor firings, and workshops, the first horizontal kiln was created.

To this day, we remember its very first firing — accompanied by the music of Aga Radziszewska (vocals) and Barek Drak (music).
A spacious, horizontal kiln, easy to load with large amounts of ceramic work.A companion of traveling and outdoor workshops — it truly holds a lot, especially long, horizontal pieces.
For bisque firing and other Raku techniques.
Over time, it evolved in form and, paired with the Heksagon, became a kiln “tailored to measure.”
The next step: universality.

Two in one. A compromise.
This is how the ring kiln, “tailored to measure” — Heksagon — was created.A new kiln for Raku.Edi’s favorite.
With a larger diameter than the Barrel, and at the same time — like BEKA — rings of varying heights.Just right to be operated by one woman.Comfortable to use, just like BEKA.
Yes.Women played a huge role here — almost as significant as our thousands of Raku firings.
Inspirations born from dreams and whims — whatever you may call them — as well as hundreds, and later thousands, of firings shaped the form, ease of use, and colors of our kilns.
This is how, many years ago, our brand was born — Piece Boruty.Born in fire.In spontaneity. In joy.
They say about them:“The best Raku kilns.”
There will be a separate post about what and how to fire in them. For now, we invite you to explore the gallery of our kilns on our website.
