Crystalline glazes

A Technique for the Persistent and Those Seeking Surprises!

This is my favorite technique, discovered some time ago. It requires precision, detailed notes, and an incredibly sensitive balance. You measure, weigh, and fire for an extended period, often with great anticipation.

The result is sometimes worth a kingdom, while other times, it feels like an excuse to retreat into the studio for longer. The glazes are mixed, and the colors reflect the delicate balance and tolerance of the colorants. The beauty and size of the crystals depend on the firing curve, electricity costs, and, quite frankly, a bit of luck.

It's a truly extraordinary, lengthy process that brings unexpected results and a sense of accomplishment for those willing to invest the time and attention it demands.
